PRIVACY POLICY
SIA AIRKARGO considers the data entrusted by its clients to be a valuable asset and complies with personal data security requirements as set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national laws.
SIA AIRKARGO uses all reasonable safeguards and security measures to prevent unauthorized access to data, its malicious use, or loss.
SIA AIRKARGO collects, uses, and processes data that are necessary to provide the services requested by the client or that are mandatory under the law. Some of this information may directly or indirectly identify a natural person; therefore, this information is referred to as personal data. The collected personal data may include, but are not limited to: name/surname, address, contact phone number, e-mail address, application information, and passwords.
Processing of personal data beyond the requirements of contract performance or legal obligations is based solely on the person’s explicit consent.
Personal data are collected, stored, and processed in the following cases:

to provide logistics services and perform lawful obligations on the client’s behalf, as ordered by the client;

to process client payments or establish credit;

upon request, to provide the client with access to SIA AIRKARGO e-services;

to request feedback on provided services for quality assessment purposes;

to improve service quality online and offline, as well as for customer relationship management;

based on the client’s consent, to provide the latest information and updates about SIA AIRKARGO services and activities via newsletters and e-mail alerts.
Personal data may be collected actively and passively. In both cases, SIA AIRKARGO follows the principles of data minimization and purpose limitation as set out in the GDPR. Personal data are not stored longer than legally permitted, i.e., for the entire period during which services are provided to you, and for a longer period if necessary to protect our interests and rights in connection with claims or complaints made against us.
Active data collection
Active collection of personal data may take place through e-mail correspondence, phone calls, fax, user-submitted forms on SIA AIRKARGO websites, or other appropriate means. The client voluntarily discloses the personal data necessary for performance of the contract.
Passive data collection
SIA AIRKARGO uses automated website visitor tracking tools to improve the company’s online services and make website content more suitable for visitors’ needs. Each time a SIA AIRKARGO website is visited, some data (for example, website navigation patterns, location and device information) are passively collected and stored using cookies.
SIA AIRKARGO company websites use cookies (both first-party and third-party cookies, such as Google Analytics) as a means of collecting browsing data. A cookie is a small text file sent from the visited website to the visitor’s browser. It helps the website remember information about the visit, including the preferred language and other settings. Non-personalized informational content on SIA AIRKARGO websites can be accessed without cookies. Restrictions may apply to areas that require a client password. SIA AIRKARGO does not single out individual users based on their behavior and activities. All collected data are used in aggregated form.
During the performance of contractual obligations, personal data received from clients or international partners are used only as stipulated in the contract, in compliance with the purpose limitation principle. The contact information provided by the client may be used to conduct customer satisfaction or feedback surveys based on the services used.
To provide logistics services in accordance with the contract concluded with the client, SIA AIRKARGO may transfer the personal data of involved parties (for example, name/surname, address, phone number, e-mail address) to branches or partner companies within the European Union or outside its borders.
Given the nature of logistics and customs services, SIA AIRKARGO may be subject to a legal obligation to submit the client’s personal data to government authorities in the countries of departure, destination and/or transit in order to deliver shipments to the destination.
When transferring personal data to third parties within the European Union or outside its borders, SIA AIRKARGO follows the principle of data minimization, disclosing only as little personal data as necessary to ensure compliance with legal requirements. In other cases, the person’s explicit consent is required.
SIA AIRKARGO uses a number of trusted third-party service providers to improve service quality and for marketing purposes. External service providers are prohibited from using disclosed personal data for purposes other than those specified in this policy.
SIA AIRKARGO websites may contain links to external websites. These are provided for the convenience of website visitors and often contain useful information. SIA AIRKARGO assumes no responsibility for the content and privacy policy of such websites. Use these sites with due care.
SIA AIRKARGO strives to keep the personal data in its possession accurate and up to date. In accordance with the GDPR, a person has the right to obtain an overview of the personal data submitted to and processed by SIA AIRKARGO; the person has the right to update and correct such data or to stop unlawful processing of data, as well as the right to be forgotten in cases where this does not conflict with the law.
